What is a Spotify Canvas?
It is a short vertical visual loop shown in the Now Playing view of the Spotify mobile app, in place of the album artwork. It gives a track a moving visual identity inside the player.
How long should a Spotify Canvas be?
Spotify currently accepts a loop between 3 and 8 seconds, in a vertical 9:16 format. We check the current platform specifications before final delivery.
Can you make a Canvas from our cover art or music video?
Yes. Existing artwork or footage can be a starting point, but we design the motion as a complete loop rather than simply cutting a few seconds from a longer piece.
Can you make a Canvas for an upcoming release?
Yes. Spotify allows Canvas on upcoming tracks. Share your release date early so we can plan the concept, review and delivery around it.
Who uploads the Canvas to Spotify?
Your team uploads the finished file through Spotify for Artists using an eligible artist, Admin or Editor account. We supply the agreed export; account access stays with you.
Can several tracks share one visual direction?
Yes. For an EP or album, we can build a connected family of loops while giving each track a visual detail of its own.
